Jean-Benoît Cavalier took over the estate in 1984. In 1990, they restructured the old wine cellars and created the name of the estate, Chateau Lascaux. Today, the winery comprises 85 hectares of vineyards and 300 hectares of forest filled with oak and pine trees. The name of the domain, "Lascaux" comes from the limestone that is specific to the area.
